Carpenter Hotel Hotel

Scott Specht

Hospitality, Recreation, Travel and Tourism Design Carpenter Hotel Hotel by Scott Specht A “mid-century-utilitarian” union hall was re-purposed as the lobby and restaurant with minimal changes. New hotel structures have a distinct architectural expression, but are harmonious with the existing hall and other unselfconscious industrial buildings in the area. It all fits together, and into its surroundings, seamlessly. The hotel has a concrete structural frame with infill walls made of clay masonry blocks and recycled oil-drilling pipe. It is simple and direct.
